To follow up on those 11 capitalised words from yesterday…. SPEEDWAY! I went to the speedway on the weekend. Actually it was on SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!! Yes. After spending years as a kid wondering what that guy on those ads was so gosh darn excited about, now I know. I’m not sure whether it’s the methanol asphyxiation, spinal injuries or the carnival food, but it’s pretty darn good! What’s not to love.

So today was to begin my tribute to the olympics , with different country hats until the  closing ceremony. It is kind of on the same theme, but I wanted to make special tribute to my favourite olympian- Daria Joura. She was a chance in the gymnastics, but was ‘floored’ by an injury in the team event. She still ’stuck it’ out and helped to ‘vault’ Australia in the gymnastics team final, so here’s hoping that they can really ‘pommel’ the competition. She was originally from Siberia…and this is my headwear related homage.

The baton has been passed and there is a new Fed-Ex in town. Gratz to Mr. Nadal! Actually I don’t really care all that much, I’m just doing to it to annoy someone… I mean isn’t that the real reason we say anything! No one cares if you are saying something nice, people want to be antagonised! This may not be the case, but when you are as lonely as I am, you will do anything to get people to talk to you. So while I am at it…I don’t like Johnny Cash, Age of Conan sucks, and cats are lame.

In a follow up to Wednesday’s post “Don’t Hit Your Wife” , I have to take my hat off (then put it back on again-cause really that’s the whole point of this thing) to Scott Prince. He broke his arm, and last time I checked- that really sucks. So this is Matt’s second football dedication in a week, but he feels as though it’s worth it. Scott Prince- You are a prince among men.

Tonight is the night tempers will flare, people will be hit and hosts will disappoint their guests. That’s right, State Of Origin. For my international readers I guess it would be like Nth Korea Vs South Korea, France Vs anyone or PSV Eindhoven Vs FC Groningen. Matt is really into stage of origin and feels as though his support will spur Queensland to a victory!

Sometimes you have to put personal agendas aside and say, hey what’s best for Matt. I had this big rant prepared about how lonely I am, and how difficult it is to face each day, but I know that Matt has something to say. He wants to send a big shout-out to HIS Brisbane Broncos and he knows they are struggling with like 1000 injuries. In other, more eloquent words, Let’s Go Broncos!
